NOTES:  Simon emigrated from Hennegouw and arrived in New Amsterdam on 12
	February 1659 in De Trouw with his wife and two children.

	Simon is said to have married twice with his first two children having
	been born of his first wife.  His second wife was MAGDALENA VAN DER
	STRATEN, who was b. abt. 1620 prob. in Amsterdam, Netherlands, a
	daughter of Lodowycks Van Der Straeten.

    Notes:  According to the marriage record, Jannetje was "Van Amsterdam" and
	    Jean was "Van Coma."  Jean had mar. as his first wife Margariet Jans
	    from Scotland.

 Children:  1.  JANNETJE DE PRE, was bap. 3 Dec. 1662 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church of New Amsterdam.  Wit.:  None.  She mar. as his first
		wife CORNELIUS EPKE BANTA, who was b. ca. 1663 in Minnertsga,
		West Friesland, Netherlands, a son of Epke Jacobse Banta and
		Sitske Dirksdr.  Jannetje died prior to 18 Nov. 1699, on which
		date Cornelis mar. as his second wife Magdaleena Demarest.
		Cornelis died in Apr. 1719 at Hackensack, NJ.

	    2.  FRANCYNTIE DE PRE, was bap. 12 Jan. 1665 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church of New York.  Wit.:  Anthony du Wel.

	    3.  MARIA DE PRE, was bap. 16 Feb. 1667 at the Reformed Dutch Church
		of New York.  Wit.:  Jacomina Drun.

	    4.  JAN DE PRE, was bap. 28 Mar. 1671 at the Reformed Dutch Church
		of New York.  Wit.  None.

	    5.  SIMON DE PRE, was said to have been bap. 21 June 1675 though no
		record has been found to support this.
