NOTES: Michael's death cerificate indicates that he emigrated to the United
States around 1850 and that he died of "organic heart disease." After
emigration he eventually settled in Henrietta, Monroe Co., NY and then
finally in Webster, Monroe Co., NY. He was employed as a farmer.

Catherine's birth date was taken from her tombstone. The 1900 census
lists her birth as Apr. 1840. The 1910 census states that she had 10
children with 5 surviving at that time.

Johannes Petrus Marx was born in Germany. It is not known if he ever
immigrated to the United States. Barbara Altmeier (or Altmeiss) was
born in Germany. The uncertainty in her last names is the result of a
nearly illegible rendering in the only know record to contain that name
	- her death record which is found at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church,
Webster, NY. She died 10 May 1875 and was buried 12 May 1875 in the
Holy Trinity Cemetery. Her tombstone reads: "Barbara Marx, wife of
	J.P. Marx, died May 10, 1875, aged 75 years 11 months."

						Executive Division
						   Health Bureau Jan. 16th 1907
	    Miss Agnes Hefner
		 Webster, N.Y.

	    Dear Madam:-

We will take you at the Municipal Hospital at the rate of $7.00
per week, If you come you must understand that you will have to
work hard to get well. You will have to either sit still or lie
still all day. You will have to be out doors during the whole day,
and sleep with the windows wide open at night. You will be provided
at the hospital with felt shoes and sheep's wool overcoat. You would
better bring woolen gloves that can be washed, a toothbrush, and no
handkerchiefs. I gave your brother the number of the hospital. You
better come on the Sodus car, get off at Clifford Street, and tel-
ephone the hospital just before you leave so that they may get you
	    at the Clifford Street Crossing.

				Yours respectfully,
