NOTES:  Banns for their marriage was published 28 July 1672 at the Reformed
	Dutch Church of Bergen.

	Laurens emigrated to this country with his parents prior to 1655.  In
	1665 he took the Oath of Allegiance to the English.  He joined the
	Reformed Dutch Church of Bergen on 27 Mar. 1674 and Francyntje later
	joined on 25 June 1677.  On 8 July 1688 he was dismissed to the Reformed
	Dutch Church of Acquackanonk where he was an elder there from 25 May
	1704 until 2 May 1706.  On 24 Aug. 1695 William Nicholls and his wife
	Ann conveyed land to Lawrence which he later gave to his children in his
	will dated 24 May 1707.

		Louwerence Toors and Marrya Spier.  Prior to 1729 he mar. LEA
		H. SPIER, who had no birth or baptismal record, a dau. of
		Hendrick Spier and Rachel Pier.

	    3.  LOUWERENCE TOERS, was b. 7 June 1712.  Wit.:  Johannis Toors and
		Marytje Toors.

	    4.  JACOB TOERS, was b. 20 Jan. 1714/15.  Wit.:  Roelof Van Houten
		and Jannitie Spier.  With banns published 12 June 1753 at the
		Reformed Dutch Church of Acquackanonk he mar. CATALINA KIP, who
		was b. 26 Aug. 1727 and bap. 24 Sept. 1727 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church of Acquackanonk (wit.:  Hessel Peterse and Leah Bruin),
		a dau. of Isaac Kip and Anna Van Noorstrant.

	    5.  MARITIE TOERS, was b. 23 Aug. 1718.  Wit.:  Cornelus Toors and
		Leeja Spier.  With banns published 24 Aug. 1739 at the Reformed
		Dutch Church of Acquackanonk she mar. JOOST KOGH, who was from
		Nassau Dillenburg, Germany, according to his marriage record.
		Both were recorded as living in Acquackanonk, NJ, at the time
		of their wedding.

	    6.  ABRAM TOERS, was b. 20 May 1723.  Wit.:  Jacob Vrie Landt and
		Antie Toors.  He mar. BELITIE BREVOORT.

	    3.  NICHOLAS TOERS, had no birth or baptismal record.  On 24 July
		1748 at the Reformed Dutch Church of Schraalenburgh he mar.
		MARGRIETJE BANTA, who was bap. 21 Oct. 1722 at the Reformed
		Dutch Church of Hackensack (wit.:  Joris Doremes and Marittie,
		his wife), a dau. of Jan Cornelise Banta and Cornelia Van
		Sicklen.  Margrietje was a member of the Reformed Dutch Church
		of Schraalenburgh in 1756.  Nicholas was murdered by a negro in
		1767, who was sentenced to be burned at the stake.  The
		execution took place just below Hackensack in Quacksack.

	    4.  LAWRENCE TOERS, had no birth or baptismal record.  He mar.
		ELIZABETH (__).  Lawrence's will was dated 28 Nov. 1801 and
		probated 5 Mar. 1803.  Executors were son Arie, and friends
		Petrus Westervelt and Coonradus Sloon.

		Paramus.  On 25 Apr. 1745 she mar. GERRIT POST, who was b. 2
		Feb. 1722 and bap. (no date) at the Reformed Dutch Church of
		Acquackanonk (wit.:  Casparis Stinmets and Lena Stynmets), a son
		of Johannes Post and Elisabeth Van Houten.

	    3.  ANTJE TOERS, was b. 18 Oct. 1729 and bap. 2 Nov. 1729 at the
		Reformed Dutch Church of Acquackanonk.  With banns published 21
		Dec. 1752 at the Reformed Dutch Church of Acquackanonk she mar.
		CORNELIS VAN VORST, who had no birth or baptismal record and was
		a son of Gerrit Van Vorst and Sarah Van Winkle.  Both were
		recorded as having been born and currently living in
		Acquackanonk, NJ, at the time of their marriage.

	    4.  GERRIT TOERS, had no birth or baptismal record.  With banns
		published 1 Dec. 1759 at the Reformed Dutch Church of
		Acquackanonk he mar. MARGRITIE VAN WINKLE.  Gerrit was recorded
		as having been born in Bergen Co., NJ, and Margritie as having
		been born in Essex Co., NJ.  Gerrit's will, dated 23 Mar. 1795
		and probated 2 May 1799, stated that he was of Saddle River
		Township, and mentioned his wife, Margaret, and children and
		grandson Garret, son of John.
