NOTES: Sara married as her first husband Willem Neering.
Fip first appeared in the records of this country abt. 1663 (a year
before his brother, Jan, appeared). On 4 Oct. 1665, Machierick Hitock,
Tospecsmick, and Wennaminck Keckquennen - Scahems of Hoppemense -
conveyed to him the Hoppemanse tract "between two creeks, over against
Anthony Breyant." On 3 May 1669 Gov. Cartaret granted him a patent for
the land. On 25 Mar. 1669 he was granted a license to keep an Ordinary
at (__), over against New Castle, NJ. On 8 Feb. 1673 on his plantation,
he witnessed a deed between Sospannick and Wicknaminck who sold land to
Edmund Cantwell and Johannes Dehaes. On 24 Mar. 1674 permission was
granted to Fopp Outhout "to take vp a certaine peice of land for
himselfe & his heires, lyeing in the woods Joyning vpon the Marish or
Valley haueing on the North-West-Side Pompion-hooke, and streatching
into the North-East-side to the Fish-Creeke or Kill, and into the woods
as ffarr as the Indians haue mak't the same wth above sd piece or pcel
of land." The land was surveyed 12 June 1675. As Fopse Onstant he
signed the "Concession and Agreements of West Jersey" on 3 Mar. 1676.
Foppe Outhout acted as one of 4 or five justices at meetings held in the
town of New Castle on 8 Dec. 1676, 9 May 1678, and 17 July 1678. In a
deed dated 24 June 1690 he was referred to as Fabius Johnson Outhout.
The will of Fipp Jansen Outhout, an inhabitant of the eastern shore of
the Deleware River, dated 22 Jan. 1685/86 and recorded 2 Mar. 1692/93,
mentioned his wife who was to receive his real and personal estate, and
also mentioned but did not name children. These were probably his
stepchildren by his wife's first marriage. The witnesses to the will
were William Shite, Robert White, and Michael Barron. An inventory was
made 20 Feb. 1692/92 by Clauss Johnson and William Shute of estate
values at £110 and 3 sh., including L10 for a silver plate, £3 for a
great Bible, and £8 for books. Sara's will was dated 12 Sept. 1703 in
New Castle, and proved 2 Oct. 1703 in Chester, PA. Witnesses were Hypo
Lefever, Henry Williams, and Lydia Williams Neering.
