NOTES:  Banns for their marriage with published 15 April 1682 at the Reformed
	Dutch Church at New York.  Jesayes was recorded as "j.m. Van Amsterdam"
	and Aaltje as "j.d. Van de Gauwanes."  Jesayes emmigated from Amsterdam
	in 1661 and settled first in New Amsterdam and later moved to Brooklyn
	where he took the Oath of Allegiance in 1687.  He was on the assessment
	rolls of 1683.  In 1692 he resided in Newton.  He joined the Reformed
	Dutch Church in New York on 28 May 1679.

    Notes:  John settled later in life in Goshen, NY where he died.  In his will
	    dated 6 Feb. 1779 and proved 28 Jan. 1780, he mentioned his wife
	    Martha, sons Benjamin, Joseph, Samuel, William, and Zephaniah, heirs
	    of son John, daughters Martha Jackson, Mary Holly, and Esther Knapp,
	    and granddaughters Martha and Mary, daughters of Joseph Holly.

 Children:  1.  JOSAIH (or JOSEPH) DRAKE, was b. 8 Jan. 1721 in Brooklyn, Kings
		Co., NY.  In 1745 he mar. as his first wife (__).  On 11 Jan.
		1753 he mar. as his second wife AMY CARMAN.  Joseph died prior
		to 15 Aug. 1807.

	    2.  JOHN DRAKE, was b. 14 Sept. 1722 on Long Island, NY.  In Aug.
		1749 in Smithfield, Northampton Co., PA, he mar. CHRISTINA
		KERMER, who was bap. 24 July 1726 at the Reformed Dutch Church
		of Kingston (wit.:  Velten Smit and Metjen Kermer), a dau. of
		Dirk Kermer and Eva Schoonhoven.

	    3.  MARTHA DRAKE, was b. 15 Aug. 1723.  She mar. ALEX JACKSON.

	    4.  PHOEBE DRAKE, was b. 29 Dec. 1725.

	    5.  ESTHER DRAKE, was b. 27 Aug. 1727.  She mar. JAMES KNAPP.

	    6.  ELEANOR DRAKE, was b. 29 Oct. 1729.

	    7.  WILLIAM DRAKE, was b. 9 Oct. 1730.  He mar. MARGARET DOWDLE.

	    8.  JACOB DRAKE, was b. 5 Sept. 1732.  His wife's name in unknown.
		Jacob was a colonel in the West Battalion of the Morris Militia
		and served as a representative in the State Legislature.  He
		died Sept. 1823 in Drakesville, NJ, where he had been one of its
		earliest settlers.

	    9.  SAMUEL DRAKE, was b. Dec. 1733 on Long Island, NY.  In 1752 at
		the Reformed Dutch Church of Smithfield  he mar. SARAH HANDY.
		Samuel died in 1789 Lower Smithfield Township, Northampton Co.,
		PA.

	   10.  BENJAMIN DRAKE, was b. 3 Nov. 1734.  On 11 Apr. 1757 he mar. as
		his first wife SARAH KNAPP.  Abt. 1775 he mar. ABIGAIL KNAPP.

	   11.  MARY DRAKE, was b. 4 July 1735.  She mar. JOSEPH HOLLY.

	   12.  ZEPHANIAH DRAKE, was b. 12 Jan. 1737.  He died in Mamakating,
		Ulster Co., NY

	   13.  (poss.) EVERARDUS DRAKE, who had no birth or baptismal record.

	   14.  (poss.) FRANCIS DRAKE, who had no birth or baptismal record.

		Pieterse De Groot.  Susanna died aft. Mar. 1790.  Benjamim died
		bef. 15 Mar. 1790 in Harrington Township, Bergen, NJ.  His will
		was dated 20 Apr. 1789.
