NOTES:  On 30 January 1692 Joost married as his second wife and as her second
	husband ANNATIE JORIS RAPALIE, the widow of Martin Ryerson, who was
	born 8 February 1646 and baptised 11 February 1646 at the Reformed Dutch
	Church of New York (wit.:  Sara Planck), a daughter of Joris Jansen
	Rapalje and Catalyntje Jeronomus Trico.

	Joost emigrated about 1654.  He took the Oath of Allegiance in Brooklyn
	in 1687 and stated that he had been in this country 33 years.  In 1676
	he was assessed in Brooklyn for 19 morgens of land  and valley as well
	as a few horses, cows, and hogs.  In 1683 he was assess for 16 morgens
	of land and for livestock.  He with others of Brooklyn in 26 May 1663,
	petitioned to be allowed to make a new concentration (village) at the
	Wallabout.  An inventory and appraisement was taken of his estate on 27
	January 1695/96.  An account was made of disbursements of the estate of
	Joost Franse, late of Bedford in Kings County:  to Johans Van Ekelyn for
	beer at his funeral, £1; to the charges of his funeral £2.19s.9d.  To
	charge of Coroner and jury viewing his body, £3.7s.3½d.  To the Secretary
	Secretary of Letters of Administration, £2.8s.  Quietus granted to
	executors 10 June 1697.

 Children:  1.  ARIE BENNET, was bap. 7 Aug. 1698 at the Reformed Dutch Church
		of Brooklyn.  Wit.:  Aria Bennet and Angenietje, his wife.  He
		mar. as his first wife MARIA VAN PELT, who was a dau. of Wouter
		Theunise Van Pelt.  He mar. as his second wife JANE GRIGGS, who
		was a dau. of Benjamin Griggs and Margrietje Van Driest.

	    2.  ISAAC BENNET, was bap. 9 June 1700 at the Reformed Dutch Church
		of Brooklyn.  Wit.:  Michael Van der Koek amd Saartje, his wife.
		He mar. ELIZABETH AERSON, who was bap. 21 Sept. 1701 at the
		Reformed Dutch Church of Brooklyn (wit.:  Aert Aerzon and Debora
		Schearla), a dau. of Mathew Aerson and Maria Van Dyke.  He moved
		with his brothers to Bucks Co., PA, where his will, dated 10
		Sept. 1747, was probated 11 Dec. 1747.

	    3.  WILLEM BENNET, was bap. 18 Apr. 1704 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church of Brooklyn.  Wit.:  Leffert Peiters and Abigail, his
		wife.  He mar. GEERTJE SUYDAM, who was a dau. of Ryck Suydam and
		Jannetje Dorland.  He moved to Bucks Co., PA, where he was a
		blacksmith in Northamptom Township.  His will was dated 1766 and
		probated 20 Mar. 1773.  Geertje's will was dated 28 Aug. 1775
		and probated 4 Nov. 1784.

	    4.  JACOB BENNET, was bap. 17 Nov. 1706 at the Reformed Dutch Church
		of Brooklyn.  Wit.:  Cornelis and Tryntje Van Brunt.  On 18 Aug.
		1732 at the Reformed Dutch Church of Acquackanonk he mar.
		MARYKEN WYCKOFF (also called MAJEKA, MAEYLEN, and MIJCAIJ), who
		was a dau. of Simon Wyckoff and Geertje Van der Vliet.  He moved
		to Bucks Co., PA, where his will, dated 18 July 1767, was
		probated 8 Aug. 1767.

	    5.  JOOST BENNET, had no birth of baptismal record was b. abt. 1708,
		prob. in Monmouth Co, NJ.  Abt. 1744 he mar. GEERTJE VLIET, who
		was a dau. of John Vliet and Grietje Wyckoff.  He was Captain of
		the Associated Regiment in Bucks Co., PA, from 1747 to 1748.

	    6.  (prob.) JOHANNIS BENNET, had no birth of baptismal record was b.
		abt. 1710 in Middlesex Co., NJ.  He mar. AGNIETJE BENNET, who
		was a dau. of Jan Bennet and Femmetje Rapalje.

	    7.  (prob.) SOPHIA BENNET, had no birth of baptismal record.  She
		was alive in 1760 when she acted as a baptismal sponsor for a
		child of her prob. brother, Johannes.
