    Notes:  Peter emigrated from the Netherlands in 1636.  He settled in
	    Flatlands, where he purchased land, and where on 10 July 1655 he was
	    contracted to superintended the bouwery and cattle of Petrus
	    Stuyvesant.  He was magistrate of New Utrecht in 1655, 1658, 1662,
	    and 1663, and was in Feb. 1664, one of the representatives at the
	    convention held at Midwout, for the purpose of sending delegates to
	    the Netherlands, to lay before the States General and West India
	    Company the distressed state of the country.  He was also one of the
	    patentess in the town charters of 1667 and 1686.

 Children:  1.  NICHOLAS WYCKOFF, had no birth or baptismal record and was prob.
		b. about 1646 at Beverwyck (Albany).  About 1672 he mar. SARA
		MONTFOORT, who was bap. 2 Apr. 1656 at the Reformed Dutch Church
		of New York (wit.:  Cornelis Barentszen and Ariaentje), a dau.
		of Pieter Montfoort and Sara de Plancken.  Nicholas took the
		Oath of Allegiance in Kings Co., NY on 26/30 Sept. 1687 at which
		time he was living in Flatlands, LI.  There is a deed to Claes
		Wyckoff dated 13 May 1690, from Pieter Cornelissen Luyster and
		his wife Jannetie Pietersen, of a farm property in Flatlands,
		L.I., for a consideration of £637, 7 shillings.  Another deed
		dated 21 May 1703 takes title from the heirs of Pieter Claes, of
		lands, consideration £100.  His last known document found in the
		old Wyckoff house is a deed dated 24 Feb. 1714/15, to his son
		Pieter Wyckoff of Middletown, Monmouth Co., NJ, consideration
		£425, of 48 acres in Flatlands, also a house, barn, orchard, etc.
		The mark of Claes in signing documents was an anchor with flukes
		upward.  Nicholas died aft. 24 Feb. 1714/15.  Sara was bur. 31
		Dec. 1704 as per the records of the Reformed Dutch Church at
		Flatland which states "Claes Wyckoff for grave and shroud for
		his wife, 24 f(lorins)."

	    2.  MARGRIETJE WYCKOFF, had no birth or baptismal record and was
		prob. b. about 1648 in Beverwyck.  With banns published 26 Jan.
		1673 at the Reformed Dutch Church of New York she mar.
		MATTHYS BROUWER, who was bap. 30 May 1649 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church of New York (wit.:  Mathys and Barentje Molenaers), a son
		of Adam Brouwer and Magdalena Jacobs Verdon.

	    3.  ANNETJE WYCKOFF, was b. 1 Nov. 1650 and bap. 27 Nov. 1650 at the
		Reformed Dutch Church of New Amsterdam.  Wit.:  Albert Wantenaer
		and his wife, Aeltje Cornelis.  About 1675 she mar. as his second
		wife ROELOF MARTENSEN SCHENCK, the widower of Neeltje Gerretse
		Van Couwenhoven, who b. 20 June 1619 in Amersfoort, prov. of
		Utrecht, the Netherlands, a son of Marten Schenck and Maria
		Brockhurst.  He immigrated to New Netherlands 26 June 1650 with
		his father and brother, Jan Martense.  Roelof obtained a patent
		for 23 morgens of Flatlands, 29 Jan. 1661, and on 19 Mar. 1674,
		bought of the heirs of Gerrit Loockerman 200 acres in Amersfoort,
		with buildings.  In 1678 he took the Oath of Allegiance in
		Flatland, and on 20 Apr. 1688, bought of a brother one-half of
		a mill and the island on which it stood.  He was a magistrate
		from 1662 to 1664, representative in the Hempstead Convention
		(1665), sheriff of the county in 1685, justice of the peace in
		1684, 1689, and 1692, and Captain of the Horse in 1690.  Annetje
		died 9 Nov. 1688.  Roelof died 14 Jan. 1705 and his will, dated
		4 Sept. 1704, was proved 26 July 1705 in Flatlands.

	    4.  MAYKEN WYCKOFF, was bap. 19 Oct. 1653 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church of New Amsterdam.   Wit.:  Marten Jans, Judith Stuyvesant,
		and Hendrickje Cornelis Van Ness.  She mar. WILLEM WILLEMSE, of
		Gravesend, who had no birth or baptismal records and was b. abt.
		1637 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.  He arrived on the Concorde
		in 1657.  He was on the tax rolls in Flatlands in 1676 and 1683,
		owning large quantities of land and stock.  He took the Oath of
		Allegiance in 1687 in Gravesend, where his name appears on the
		census there in 1698.  He sold his lands in Gravesend to his son
		Nicholas for £500.  His will was dated 1 Dec. 1721 and proved
		either 14 Apr. 1722 or 19 Sept. 1722.

	    5.  WILLEMPJE WYCKOFF, had no birth or baptismal record and was b.
		abt. 1654 at Amersfoort, Long Island.  Abt. 1670 she mar. ADRIAEN
		PIETERSE KENNE.  He came to New Netherlands in 1660, was a
		member of the Reformed Dutch Church of Flatlands in 1666, took
		the Oath of Allegiance in 1687, appeared on the assessment rolls
		of 1693 for Flatlands, and on the census there in 1698  She was
		buried abt. 6 Aug. 1693.

	    6.  CORNELIS WYCKOFF, had no birth or baptismal record and was prob.
		b. about 1656.  On 13 Oct. 1678 in New Utrecht, NY, he mar.
		GEERTJE SIMONSE VAN ARSDALEN, who was b. in 1660 in Flatlands,
		Long Island, a dau. of Simon Jansen Van Arsdalen and Pieterje
		Classen Van Schouw.  They lived their lives in New Lotts,
		Flatbush, LI, NY, where he purchased a 195 acre farm on 15 Mar.
		1678/79 from Symon Hansen Van Noostrand for 3600 gl.  He was a
		member of the Reformed Dutch Church of Flatbush in 1677, on the
		assessment rolls for Flatbush in 1683 and 1693, and on the
		census there in 1698.  In 1703 he bought 1200 acres in
		Middlebush, Somerset Co., NJ, which he conveyed to his sons
		John, Peter, Jacob and Simon.  Cornelis and Geertje were buried
		in the New Lotts Dutch Churchyard.  Cornelis' will, dated 4 Apr.
		1736, was probated 10 May 1746.

	    7.  HENDRICK WYCKOFF, had no birth or baptismal record and was prob.
		b. about 1658.  He mar. as his first wife GEERTJE (__); and as
		his second wife HELENA (__), who survived him.  The records for
		the Reformed Dutch Church of Flatbush state that Hendrick
		purchased shrouds for three children.  He left no surviving
		issue.  Hendrick died 6 Dec. 1744, leaving in his will, dated 25
		25 July 1741, his farm in Flatlands to Johannes Willemse, a
		grandson of his sister, Mayken, on the condition that he assume
		the name Wyckoff.

	    8.  GEERTJE WYCKOFF, had no birth or baptismal record and was prob.
		b. about 1660 in Flatlands, L.I.  On 17 Mar. 1678 she mar.
		CHRISTOFFEL JANSE ROMEYN, who had no birth or baptismal record
		and was b. abt. 1650 in the Netherlands, a son of Jan Romeyn.
		He immigrated to New Netherlands in 1653, appeared on the
		assessment rolls of Flatlands in 1675 and 1676, was a member of
		the Reformed Dutch Church of Flatlands in 1677, took the Oath of
		Allegiance in Gravesend in 1687, appeared in 1693 on the
		assessment rolls of New Utrecht, appeared on the 1698 census of
		Gravesend (where he had purchased land from his brother, Claes),
		and was appointed lieutenant in Gravesend in 1689.  On 1 Apr.
		1703 he bought a 100 acre farm in the village of New Utrecht
		from John Verkerk which he was assessed 98 acres in 1706, and
		which he sold 20 July 1708 to Andrew Emmans of Gravesend for
		£550.   Geertje died aft. 1711, and Christoffel died abt. 1709.

	    9.  GARRET WYCKOFF, had no birth or baptismal record and was prob.
		b. about 1662.  About 1691 he mar. CATHARINE JOHANNA NEVIUS, who
		was bap. 16 Feb. 1665 at the Reformed Dutch Church of New York
		(wit.:  Matthias Nevius "predt tot Montfoort," and Elizabeth de
		Potter), a dau. of Johannes Nevius and Ariaentje Blyck.  He
		appeared on the assessment roll of Flatbush in 1675 and 1693,
		and on the census rolls there in 1698.  He took the Oath of
		Allegiance in 1687.  Garret's will, dated 9 Oct. 1704, was
		probated 12 June 1707.

	   10.  MARTEN WYCKOFF, had no birth or baptismal record and was prob.
		b. about 1663.  On 17 (or 27) May 1683 he mar. HANNAH WILLEMSE,
		sister of Willem Willemse, husband of Marten's sister, Mayken.
		He is also credited with having three other wives:  Femmetje
		Auckes Van Nuyse who supposedly preceeded Hannah, and Moycah and
		Jannetje who came after Hannah.  Marten was a member of the
		Reformed Dutch Church of Flatlands in 1697, appeared on the
		assessment rolls of Flatland in 1683, and took the Oath of
		Allegiance in Gravesend in 1687.  On 13 Aug. 1683 he purchased
		plantation-lot 19 and buildings therein in Gravesend from John
		Tilton, Sr.  Marten died about 1698/99 in Gravesend.  His will,
		dated 27 Sept. 1698, was proved 26 Feb. 1707/08.

	   11.  JAN PIETERSE WYCKOFF, was bap. 22 Apr. 1663 at the Reformed
		Dutch Church of Brooklyn.  Wit.:  Jan Corzen and Hendricke.  In
		1692 he mar. NEELTJE VAN COUWENHOVEN, who was b. 7 Feb. 1669, a
		dau. of Willem Gerretse Van Couwenhoven and Jannetje Monfort.
		He was a member of Flatlands Church, 1677 (aged 12 years),
		deacon in 1693, and treasurer in 1696.  On 16 May 1702 he sold a
		farm in Flatlands to Cornelius Coerte Voorhees.  In 1707 he
		removed to Monmouth Co., NJ, where he bought 1000 acres of land.
		They were both members of Marlborough Church of NJ in 1709 where
		he was an Elder.  His will, dated 27 Feb. 1746 and proved 25
		Apr. 1746, mentions wife Neeltie; and children:  Cornelius
		("eldest"), John, Peter, Jacob, Geertie, Neeltie, and Johannes.
		His son William was not mentioned in the will and assumed to be
		deceased by that point.

    Notes:  Hendrick appeared on a list of men who "will carry the corpse of the
	    Hon. Mr. Rensselaer, Director of the Colony of Rensselaerwyck, 7/17
	    Oct. 1674.

		1666.  Abt. 1692 he mar. as his first wife RACHEL MELCHERTSE
		VAN DEURSEN, who was a dau. of Melgert Abrahamse Van Deusen
		and Engeltie Rutgers.  On 15 Jan. 1701 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church of New York he mar. as his second wife and as her first
		husband HESTER DELAMETER.  Simon was a member of the Reformed
		Dutch Church of Albany in 1683.  He and Rachel first lived in
		Albany but removed to New York City where Simon van Esch and
		"syn h.v. Rachel van Deursen" became church members on 28 Feb.
		1694, "met att. N. Albanie."  On 3 Oct. 1698 they removed to
		Acquackanonk.  On 4 Oct. 1733 at the Reformed Dutch Church of
		Acquackanonk Hester mar. as her second husband and as his second
		wife Frans Spier.

            2.  ANNATJE VAN NESS, was b. about 1668.  On 1 Apr. 1688 at the
		Reformed Dutch Church of Albany she mar. EVERT DE RIDDER.  She
		was a member of the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany in 1683.

	    3.  CORNELIS VAN NESS, had no birth or baptismal record and was b.
		abt. 1670.

            4.  EVERT VAN NESS, had no birth or baptismal record and was b. abt.
		1672.  On 27 Oct. 1700 at the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany he
		mar. GEERTJE VAN DEN BERGH, who had no birth or baptismal
		record and was b. abt. 1675, a dau. of Gerrit Gysbertse Van den
		Bergh and Teuntje Gerrits.  Geertje was bur. 2 July 1747 in
		Albany.

	    5.  HENDRICK VAN NESS, had no birth or baptismal record and was b.
		abt. 1674.

            6.  MAEYKE VAN NESS, had no birth or baptismal record and was b.
		abt. 1676.  On 12 Apr. 1698 at the Reformed Dutch Church of
		Albany she mar. ABRAM WENDELL, who had no birth or baptismal
		record and was b. abt. 1670, a son of Evert Janse Wendell and
		Maritie Abrahamse Van Deusen.  At the time of their marriage
		they were recorded as both living in Albany.  Abram died in June
		1767.  Maeyke was alive as of 25 Aug. 1723.

	    7.  JAN VAN NESS, had no birth or baptismal record and was b. abt.
		1678.  On 10 Dec. 1706 at the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany
		he married CATHALINA GROESBECK, who was bap. 21 Oct. 1685 at the
		Reformed Dutch Church of Albany (wit.:  father, David Schuyler,
		and Pieter D. Schuyler), a dau. of William Groesbeck and
		Gertruy Schuyler.  Jan was bur. in Albany 12 Aug. 1747.

	    8.  GERRIT VAN NESS, had no birth or baptismal record and was b. abt.
		1680.  On 12 June 1709 at the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany he
		mar. CATELYNTJE DE FOREST, who had no birth or baptismal record,
		a dau. of Philip De Forest and Tryntje Kip.

	    9.  MARIA VAN NESS, was bap. 6 Apr. 1692 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church of Albany.  Wit.:  Claas R.V. Dam and Maria van Dam.

	   10.  ANNA VAN NESS, was bap. 16 Dec. 1694 at the Reformed Dutch
		Church of Albany.  Wit.:  Evert Ridders and Debora Van Dam.

    Notes:  Marietje was the widow of Pieter van Alen.  Their marriage contract
	    was dated 14 Feb. 1676/77.

	    On 11 May 1675 Gerrit sold a house and lot in Greenbush to Jacob
	    Salomonse (Goeway).  He was a member of the Reformed Dutch Church of
	    Albany since 1683.  In 1663 he was a member of the "night watch" at
	    Fort Crailo, in 1687 and 1695 Alderman of the 3rd Ward, in 1689,
	    1692, and 1693 Constable of the 3rd Ward, in 1691, 1693, 1696, and
	    1702 Assessor of that Ward, in 1694 and 1695 Overseer of Highways,
	    in 1693 Firemaster of the 3rd Ward, and from 1698 to 1702 Asst.
	    Alderman of the 3rd Ward.  In 1683 he contributed to the salary of
	    the minister and on 4 Jan. 1699 took the Oath of Allegiance.  His
	    name was also found on an address of the influential citizens of
	    Albany (24 Aug. 1700), on a petition of the Protestants of New York
	    (9 Dec. 1701), and on a roster of troops of the City and County of
	    Albany in 1700.  On 16 June 1697 he was listed with a family of 1
	    man, 1 woman, and 2 children.  He made wills in 1707 and on 9 Mar.
	    1715, when he styles himself a wheelwright.

	    them in 1697 may actually be Maritje' step-children from her first
	    marriage,
	    and are not Van Ness children at all]
