Notes: John Washburn Sr. came to America before 2 January 1632/1933.
(His wife and children came in 1635.) John Sr. and his family
migrated to Duxbury before 1643, and he purchased a
palisaded home there called "Eagle's Nest." John Sr.
and his family moved to Bridgewater after 26 May 1666.
John1 Washburn was in Duxbury, Mass., as early as 1632.
He came from Evesham, Worcestershire, an ancient town situated on the river Avon,
and was one of the original proprietors of Bridgewater, Mass.;
d. before 1670., Plymouth, Plymouth, MA

A correction regarding Margery MOORE. She was baptized on 3 Nov. 1588
in St. Peter's Parish, Bengeworth, Worcestershire,
but she was born about 1586, according to her age (49)
when she sailed to New England aboard the "Elizabeth and Ann" in 1635.
John Washborne was actually baptized July 2, 1597 in Bengeworth, Worcestershire, England.
His parents were John Washborne and Martha (Timbrell) Stevens,
who were married in Bengeworth on 6 July 1596.
The 1624 will of John Washborne named his wife Martha,
sons William Washborne and John Washborne, daughter Joane Washborne,
son-in-law Isaack Averell, and "Brother" John Tymbrell.
The 1625 will of his widow, Martha Washborne,
named her daughter Jone Washborne and her brother John Tembrell.
Baptisms of the 4 children of John and Martha Washborne are recorded
at Bengeworth:

John Washburn was a tailor in England and immigrated to America
as early as January 2, 1632/33, arriving in Plymouth. His wife
and 2 sons, John and Philip came in 1635 on the ship Elizabeth.
From the Plymouth records, John purchased land in March 1634/35
from Edward Bompass. John was on the 1633/34 tax list at
Plymouth. He was one of the founders of Duxbury, MA in 1646.
He became a freeman in Duxbury on June 2, 1646 and served in
various minor capacities.
On March 5, 1638/39, the Court ordered John Washburn, among
others, to survey and repair the Òheigh waysÓ in the colony. On
March 4, 1650, he was before the Court for neglecting to mend
these highways. Shortly after that, John moved to Bridgewater.
